About

I’m a professional scribbler who loves storytelling and trying new things — from new topic areas to new software programs to new platforms in which to tell a story. My communications skills span several mediums, including writing, video, animation, photography, and graphic design.

While I currently work as a creative, I began my career as a community organizer at a small nonprofit dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in Boston. For five years, I gave away fruits, vegetables, and dry goods out of a box truck, trekking across the city in blizzards and heat waves. Then, I worked as a grant writer and volunteer manager at a small nonprofit providing affordable housing to individuals experiencing homelessness.

My time at small nonprofits shaped me as a professional. It gave me an appreciation for devising creative solutions with limited resources, developing a broad skill set, and elevating voices that are not often heard. Most of all, it taught me the importance of kindness and community.

I’ve spent the past decade working in communications in higher education institutions, including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tufts University. I’ve had the opportunity to create content and manage projects on a diverse array of topics. I’ve worked on internal and external communications initiatives, and have valued the opportunity to collaborate with hundreds of talented professors, students, and administrators.

A common thread throughout my career has been a focus on health communications, which reflects my interest in communities and their overall well-being. Aesthetically, my creative work is inspired by the natural world. When I’m not busy making things, I can be found outdoors – hiking, trail running, swimming, and bird watching. I also love curling up with a good book alongside my cats (Finn and Hadley).
